Artist Profile (as written by the artist): I love nature and beautiful structures. I have lived most of my life in Minneapolis and currently live in Des Moines, IA. I work at a desk job all day and need an outlet for creativity, and that's where photography comes in. As a graduate of Iowa State University, my studies and degree in Art and Design have given me the tools to look at everyday, ordinary objects as interesting sculptures and designs.

My inspiration comes from anything and everything. I strive to look for things that people don't find beautiful or don't recognize the beauty of the object and show its worth. I love architecture, animals and nature, but most of photographic style and influence comes from architectural structures.

Our Take: Sara's style is elegantly simple, a natural look at her surroundings that becomes very powerful in her photos. The artist inside of her is obvious. Contrary to our last photographer of the month, Matthew Hamilton, Sara forgoes the bells and whistles of commercialism and digital perfection to leave her photos just as her surroundings were when she was shooting. This simplicity has a resounding effect on the viewer. We are proud to have Sara on our website! Congratulations Sara on being our Photographer of the Month!
